Investigation is part of the work that created ONEKID. We develop intelligence, verify what is happening, locate people and resources, and help move situations toward safety when the circumstances call for action.
Before there was a ONEKID Foundation, there was investigative work. Our founders spent years working cases, developing intelligence, tracing people and relationships, reviewing digital footprints, and trying to understand situations that were rarely as simple as they first appeared.
That work repeatedly exposed the same imbalance. People willing to exploit children could have networks, money, attorneys, technology, and specialists working on their behalf. Children and the families searching for them often had far less investigative capacity available to them.
The problem was not always that nobody cared. Sometimes people simply did not know what was happening, where to look, who to call, or what information mattered.
And sometimes the information existed, but nobody was positioned to bring the pieces together and move the situation forward.
ONEKID was built in part to put capability on the side of the child.
We are not interested in collecting information simply to know more.
The purpose of investigative work is to reduce uncertainty, establish what can be verified, identify the next actionable step, and get useful information to the people who can act on it.
Some situations require analysis. Others reach a point where somebody needs to move. When circumstances become actionable, ONEKID works with investigators, agencies, families, and trusted partners to help turn verified intelligence into the next responsible step.
Investigation does not happen in isolation from the rest of our work. A lead can become a locate. A locate can become a welfare concern. A verified risk can require law enforcement, transportation, emergency placement, advocacy, or another form of immediate coordination.
That is why ONEKID is structured around more than awareness or referral. We work across disciplines and remain involved as the problem changes.
We do not attempt to replace law enforcement, child welfare, medical professionals, or other authorities. We work to strengthen the response around them—developing information, connecting capability, and helping close the gaps that can otherwise leave a family waiting.
When the situation changes from “we need to understand” to “something needs to happen,” we are built to keep moving.
ONEKID's investigative work is supported by Archer Knox, a licensed investigative and protective intelligence agency with capability across private investigation, open-source intelligence, digital research, due diligence, field investigation, and complex case support.
That relationship gives the Foundation access to professional investigative infrastructure when circumstances require deeper research, licensed investigative activity, technical capability, or field resources beyond the ordinary reach of a nonprofit.
The objective is simple: when a child or family needs more capability on their side, we should be able to bring it.
